DIY or Die is various Do It Yourself projects that I tell you how to do.

How to make patches in every single way possible: Master list

Drawing/painting:

What do I need and where do I even get that shit?

Fabric: The type of fabric really doesnt matter, but do keep in mind that you probably want something that isnt plastic and can be durable. using what you have: Tear up old clothes like jeans, shirts, old bed sheets, whatever.

Thrifting/Yardsale/Second hand shops: Lots of stores and yard sales have craft supplies, check them out for fabric. If not look in the clothing section for clothes you can take apart for patches.

Ask your fucking friends dumbass: I am more than positive your friends might have shit they are willing to give you.

Stores: Just go to any store and just buy fabric.

Drawing/Paint/Painting supplies:

Chalk: Good to have to sketch ideas, can be found in nearly every store including grocery stores.

Markers: Fabric markers are cool but acrylic markers are better from my experience. I personally get my markers from hardware stores but most crafting stores will have some.

Paint: Applebarrel and speedway are both the only paints I recommend personally. AppleBarrel is good but will chip over time even if you mix it with fabric medium liquid.

Brushes: Can get second hand or second use anywhere. Cut your hair and tape it to a stick if you're struggling that much, but personally I prefer just using sponges. I also recommend finding tooth picks for those very small details.

Paper & Tape:

Paper: Any paper is okay, but do not get anything too thick. Printer paper is perfect and can be gotten for free literally at any establishment if you ask.

Take: Masking tape I have found works best, can be found at any store known to man but I get a very wide roll from a hardware store.

Sharps & Heat:

Scissors/Bade: You will most likely need both, but a razor of any kind, exacto or even just a knife, is good to have for fussy cutting.

Iron: an iron helps but is not needed, if anything heat up a pan and use that as an iron.

Directions:

Get your fabric of choice

Either make a stencil (trace or print out design, put masking tape over both sides, cut logo out) or plan out your design.

If using a stencil, use a paint the same color as your fabric to paint on a thin layer. If not using a stencil still use the black paint to make a layer of where your design is/the shape of it. Doing this for either method helps prevent paint from bleeding and helps you end up with a more crisp line.

Use white or really any paint to then fill in your design. Do thin layers to make sure it really sits in and settles.

Iron that hoe! Heat helps set it and also makes your patches easier to sew later on.

Printer:

Most libraries or office stores have ones you can use for free or a low price, you can also just get some fucking friends that have one.

Directions:

Get a light colored THIN fabric and cut it to the size of printer paper you use.

Tape it to the paper or use a spray peel and stick adhesive.

Print whatever the fuck you want.

Sewing

What do I need and where do I even get that shit?

Fabric & Thread: The type of fabric really doesnt matter, but do keep in mind that you probably want something that isnt plastic and can be durable and also have a strong thread.

Using what you have: Tear up old clothes like jeans, shirts, old bed sheets, whatever.

Thrifting/Yardsale/Second hand shops: Lots of stores and yard sales have craft supplies, check them out for fabric and sewing thread. If not look in the clothing section for clothes you can take apart for patches.

Sharps:

Scissors/Bade: You will most likely need both, but a razor of any kind, exacto or even just a knife, is good to have for fussy cutting.

Needle/Pins: Second hand stores might have these, but your best bet is a craft store. Get a basic multi pack to start out with, you will learn which needles you prefer after some experience.

Directions:

Get fabric of choice along with thread and more fabric.

cut out fabric into whatever design or letters you want or draw on the design or words.

Sew the letters or design on or use the thread to then make an embroidered patch.

Rubber stamps

What do I need and where do I even get that shit?

Fabric: The type of fabric really doesnt matter, but do keep in mind that you probably want something that isnt plastic and can be durable.

Using what you have: Tear up old clothes like jeans, shirts, old bed sheets, whatever.

Paint/Ink:

Paint: Applebarrel and speedway are both the only paints I recommend personally. AppleBarrel is good but will chip over time even if you mix it with fabric medium liquid. Can get these are some craft stores or online.

Ink Pad: Most office and craft stores carry this item, you can find this online as well. I have not found a specific one I love so far but will update this once I do.

Heat:

Iron: an iron helps but is not needed, if anything heat up a pan and use that as an iron.

Directions:

Get fabric of choice, rubber stamps, and an ink pad or paint.

Dab the rubber stamp (either one you carved from an eraser or lino or have rubber letter stamps) in the ink OR pour some paint on a non stick surface in a thin layer and quickly dab it on that.

Press stamp onto fabric, do some tests before hand!

Iron that bitch!!!!

Tip: Make sure you leave room around the design so you can fold the edges in and sew it without fraying edged or cutting off your design. If you need fabric thrift stores usually have a bunch of black clothes. Dont be afraid to even get clothes with words on them as you can cut the letters out and make a ransom note looking patch!
